After researching messenger bags extensively, I settled on this bag--and I'm glad I did. This roomy bag (my wife couldn't believe a bag of these dimensions has so much room!) has space for my lunch box, a thermos of coffee (the bottle holders/pockets at each end of the bag are large and satisfyingly deep), plus various electronics (Kindle Fire, phone, iPod), and an umbrella--with space left! For after-work gym time, a lightweight shirt, shorts, socks and underwear also fit in well beside the lunchbox and on top of/around the above-mentioned contents. if my lunchbox were smaller, my tennis shoes would fit, too. The only thing I've never carried in my bag is my laptop. Despite the thick canvas this bag is made from, when it comes to my Toshiba I prefer a standard padded carry case. This bag is built solidly and, along with the spacious inner compartment, has two front pockets that are well-designed to carry quite a bit more than you'd expect. My access badge, keys, a pack of note cards and several pens disappear into one pocket with room to spare. The inner pocket hanging at the back of the inside compartment is large and solid enough to hold the basics (a small bottle of hand sanitizer, lip balm, nail clippers, a bottle of aspirin, pack of band-aids), with room for more. The canvas material, and the metal grommets, snaps and the buckle on the sling are all solid. The sling itself is quite long, and adjusts length easily. The stitching is superlative, and this bag dried well and quickly at room temperature after getting caught in a light rain (it kept the contents dry!) . The velcro on the front pockets does its job of holding the flap cover down, even when the bag is stuffed full.I also empty this bag out and use it as a range bag when I go shooting. It handles the weight of a handgun, shooting accessories and boxes of ammunition with no fraying or ripping. All in all, I'm very satisfied with my purchase. I only wish this bag were made in the US, instead of China.
